$40,000 BMW-powered Gibbs Quadski ATV is a badass toy for rich boys
This 1,300-pound, 10.5 foot long, one-person ride that impressively doubles as a personal watercraft comes equipped with all-terrain tires and four-cylinder, BMW supplied Motorrad K1300 engine that produce 175 hp, can drive up to 45 mph on both water and land, and the transitions between the two in a whip of just few seconds.
At just the press of a button, the amphibian Quadski’s wheels retract after entering the water and deploy when approaching the land. And, on water the BMW supplied 175-hp engine is coupled with manufacturer Gibbs’ high-tech and patented water jet propulsion system.
Further, the Quadski’s light weight composite hull, wide track and low center of gravity enable it to provide excellent performance and comfortable ride.
Notably, the vehicle has been in development by Gibbs for over 15 years, and cost more than $200 million to get to this point of production.
The single most advanced piece of Gibbs engineering is the suspension which delivers superb ride and handling on land and retract when on the water.
Also, we have earlier seen the Gibbs Technologies’ Aquada which featured a powerful 4-cylinder, 175-hp V6 engine that enable it to reach the speed of 30 mph on water.
