Heesen Yachts Splashes Two More
AUGUST 14, 2012
It has been a busy year for Netherlands-based Heesen Yachts, which launched two boats in July—the 115-foot (35-meter) Galactica Plus and the 154-foot (47-meter) My Secret—making a total of five new releases from Heesen this year. And, 10 more yachts are scheduled to launch through 2015.
While not much information is yet available, we can report that both vessels sport exterior styling by Omega Architects, a regular for Heesen’s exteriors. The fully custom, all-aluminum, semi displacement Galactica Plus also showcases an interior from Omega Architects and boasts a 22-foot beam. Two MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines power Galactica Plus to a top speed of 27 knots, and at 11 knots this vessel boasts a 1,400-nautical-mile range. It is built to ABS class and is MCA compliant.
My Secret (project name California), an efficient steel-hulled, full-displacement motor yacht with an antiwave bulbous bow, features an interior by London-based Bannenberg & Rowell. The design firm gave the yacht a 1940s and 1950s California-style decor, featuring bleached wenge floors and white elm paneling, matched to stainless ssteel, leather, and marble details. Five staterooms, including a main-deck master suite, accommodate 12 guests.
Built to Lloyd’s and MCA standards, this yacht powers up to a 15-knot maximum speed and has a 4,000-nautical-mile range at 12 knots, all thanks to two MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines. (www.heesenyachts.nl)
