Online meat purveyor 35° (www.35degreessteaks.com) grants serious beef lovers access to the same succulent steaks that are served by Thomas Keller, Michael Mina, Wolfgang Puck, and Lawry’s The Prime Rib. The website is run by Rick Nicholas and his son, Adam. The elder Nicholas is the founder of Newport Meat Co. in Irvine, Calif., which supplies restaurants with prime and Certified Angus beef. By way of 35°, Nicholas offers Newport Meat’s premium center-cut filets, porterhouses, New York strips, and bone-in rib eyes, as well as cuts of lamb, veal, and pork. The beef, from corn-fed Nebraska and Iowa cattle, is aged 21 to 35 days and is never frozen. An order of six pounds of prime filets and New York strips costs $288. Orders arrive overnight and come with a meat thermometer and grilling instructions.
