Anderson Cooper Apartment Sells

The closet isn’t the only thing Anderson Cooper has come out of. The CNN host just moved out of his midtown Manhattan apartment.

Cooper listed his sleek, industrial penthouse for $3.75 million in March, and it went into contract a month later. This week, the public record of the closing was released.

Cooper sold the place to the Richard K. Maloof Family Trust for $3.8 million, slightly higher than the listing price.

Boasting smoked Chambord oak floors, white satin-glass walls, wood-burning fireplaces and a floating staircase, the penthouse duplex embodies Cooper’s clean, sophisticated urban style. Apparently he renovated the space, which he bought in 2005 for $2.48 million, to further “evoke its industrial roots.” (Like many properties in the area, the apartment was a former manufacturing space.)

Minimalist aesthetics aside, the penthouse spans 3,000 square feet and boasts an additional 1,700 square feet of outdoor living space, which Cooper has transformed into a beautifully landscaped deck. Located on West 38th Street, the pad is close to a number of Manhattan landmarks, including Bryant Park, the New York Public Library and Times Square.
