Modern Luxury unveils South Florida, Caribbean weddings magazine

Ask any bride or maid of honor, and most will agree that there can never be enough magazines to flip through.
And now, South Florida brides and those planning weddings in the area have a publication devoted to them.
Modern Luxury Brides South Florida & The Caribbean launched June 28 – during the popular summer wedding season.
The new publication offers vendor information and trends for brides and grooms planning nuptials in the tri-county area and nearby Caribbean market.
“Prior to announcing the magazine, we looked at how local publishing industries were supporting the wedding industry and it was hard to find,” publisher Marisa Beazel said in an email. “There were no luxury wedding publications that existed in the South Florida market. This magazine will be the one source in the local market that will support brides with planning a luxurious wedding and a place in the industry where vendors could be showcased in an upscale print environment.”
Modern Luxury, which also publishes Miami magazine, has bridal publications in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and San Francisco. Its South Florida magazine will publish in June and December, which The Knot has reported is growing in popularity for weddings.
“According to national wedding statistics, the wedding market is a $72 billion industry and Miami is ranked 10th as the most expensive place for a wedding” in the U.S., Beazel said.
For the new publication, Modern Luxury hired Vanessa Selva as an account executive, and transitioned Editor in Chief Riki Altman from her previous position as senior contributing editor for Miami magazine.
